TheGeneticAlgorithmToolboxforMATLABwasdevelopedattheDepartmentofAutomaticControlandSystemsEngineeringofTheUniversityofSheffield,UK,inordertomakeGA'saccessibletothecontrolengineerwithintheframeworkofaexistingcomputer-aidedcontrolsystemdesignpackage.ThetoolboxwaswrittenwiththesupportofaUKSERCgrant,andthefinalversion(v1.2)wascompletedin1994.
TheToolboxwasoriginallydevelopedforMATLABv4.2.IthasalsobeensuccessfullyusedwithsubsequentversionsuptoandincludingMATLAB7.
